Kerstin Radde-Antweiler is assistant professor at the Institute for the Scientific Study of Religions at the University of Bremen, Germany. She received her diploma in Theology and finished her doctoral thesis on Ritual Design on the Internet: Reception and Invention of Magical Rituals of New Wicca Groups as part of the project Between Online-Religion and Religion-Online: Constellations of Ritual Transfers within the Medium Internet within the Collaborative Research Center 619 “Ritual Dynamics” in Heidelberg.

She has edited a special issue on Virtual World Research in Online - Heidelberg Journal of Religions on the Internet.

Simone Heidbrink

Simone Heidbrink is a junior researcher at the Institute of Religious Studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-University, Heidelberg, Germany. After majoring in Religious and Japanese Studies at the Universities of Heidelberg and Nara (Japan), she received her Master degree in September 2005. Since October 2005, as a member of the Collaborative Research Center 619 “Ritual Dynamics” at the Heidelberg University, she is focussing on Individual Religiousness on the Internet and is currently working on her PhD thesis on a Christian liturgical reform movement called Emerging Church that conducts rituals in in “meat-” and cyberspace.

Both organizers have worked together in a project on rituals in Second Life and have co-organized the Heidelberg summer school Moving Images and Media Rituals in 2008.
